Wedding Congratulation Wreaths: When and Where to Send Them
What to check before you order: ceremony time, venue address and ribbon wording
What to check before you order: ceremony time, venue address and ribbon wording
A wedding wreath only does its job if it is standing at the venue before the ceremony starts. Guests arrive and the couple's families can see who sent it, so it needs to be in place by then. If it arrives after the ceremony, tidying up may already have begun, so it is safest to order with time to spare.
Same-day delivery with Arrive in Bloom (이름꽃) applies to orders placed before 5 pm. This can vary by area and product, so if the ceremony is early in the afternoon, ordering the day before is the surest way. Weekend weddings tend to be busy, with many deliveries heading to venues on the same day, so we suggest deciding as early as you can.
Before you order, check the date and start time once more against the invitation. Misreading the date and having the wreath arrive on the wrong day happens more often than you might think. If you were invited with a mobile invitation, you can simply copy the date, time and place shown on the screen.

Send the wreath to the venue where the ceremony is held, not to a home or to the family's personal contact. Rather than giving the address alone, include the venue name, the floor and the hall name so it is delivered accurately. In a large building with several ceremony halls, a missing hall name can delay delivery.
For the recipient, write the name of the groom or bride. For the contact number, leave whichever has been confirmed, either the venue's main line or the couple's own number. If it is awkward to ask the family beforehand, the details printed on the invitation are usually enough. Some venues have a set place for wreaths, so it will be set up following the instructions on site.
Some venues limit the type or size of wreath they allow in. A quick phone call to ask whether wreaths are accepted can save you a wasted trip. Once delivery is complete, we send you a photo of the real thing, so you can see how it looks in place.
A wreath has two ribbons hanging vertically down either side. Facing the wreath, the right-hand ribbon carries the occasion message and the left-hand ribbon carries the sender. For a wedding, 祝 結婚 (“congratulations on the marriage”) is the usual wording for the right-hand side, and it is also sometimes written in Hangul as Chuk gyeolhon.
The left-hand ribbon holds a personal name or title. When a company or group is sending it, the group's name is often followed by the representative's name. For example, writing “Chair, ○○ Club, Hong Gil-dong” makes it clear who sent it. We write the ribbon and card wording by hand, free of charge.
When you fill in the order form, be specific about whether to use Chinese characters or Hangul, and how you want the spacing. If you are not sure of the Chinese characters for a name, writing it in Hangul is the way to avoid typos. For a short greeting to go with the flowers, you can draft one in advance with the flower card (/card/).
If you want to announce your congratulations at the venue entrance, a congratulatory wreath suits best. If you are thinking about its use after the ceremony, a rice wreath is a good fit. A rice wreath is a wreath decorated with flowers and ribbons with a sack of rice placed beneath it; the rice does not replace the flowers. If you would like to give something low-key to someone close, a flower basket or a bouquet is also an option.
