Opening Ceremony Wreaths: When Should They Arrive?

When should an opening ceremony wreath arrive?

An opening ceremony wreath only means something if it is already in place before the event begins. When it stands at the entrance before the first guests arrive, your good wishes come across properly, and the new owner can also arrange the space before the day. So it is best to decide when the wreath should arrive before you decide which one to choose.

A flower truly blooms in its place the moment its name is spoken.

Same-day delivery with Arrive in Bloom (이름꽃) applies to orders placed before 5 pm. This can vary by region and product, so please check at the ordering stage that delivery is possible. Prices include delivery, so nothing extra is added at checkout.

When you order, it helps to include the recipient's phone number, the shop name and floor, and the time you would like it to arrive. Once delivery is done, we send a photo of the actual wreath, so you can see from afar that it was set out on time.

What is the difference between evening-before and morning-of arrival?

The two options differ in how much time you have, the condition of the flowers, and what you need to check. We have compared them in the table below.

PointEvening beforeMorning of the event
Time to sparePlenty, and the wreath can be moved around on siteRight before the event, so there is little leeway
Best suited toWhen the start time has not been settledWhen the start time is confirmed
What to checkWhether someone will be at the shop to receive it in the eveningWhether the requested arrival time is early enough

If you send it the evening before, first check that the recipient will be at the shop. If the door is locked or no one can take delivery, there is nowhere suitable to leave the wreath.

A wreath that arrives the day before will keep better for longer in a cool spot away from direct sunlight and heating. If it has to stand outside overnight, please decide in advance on a place sheltered from rain and wind, such as under an awning.

If you send it on the morning of the event, please give an arrival time that is well ahead of the start. Journey times vary with traffic and region, so it is hard to promise an exact arrival time in advance.

What if you don't know when the opening ceremony starts?

If the start time has not been confirmed, having the wreath arrive the evening before is the safest approach. It gives you extra time, and the wreath can be repositioned before the event.

If you can only order for the morning of the event, write 'arrive before the event starts' in the request box and ask for a time at least 30 minutes ahead. That margin means the wreath can still be set out before the event even if the delivery runs late.

The most reliable way to find out the start time is to ask the person opening the shop directly. If you received an invitation, check the date and time printed on it, and have one more look the day before the event in case of any changes.

How should names be written when several people send one, and what should you send if the shop is small?

A wreath has two ribbons hanging down vertically on either side. Facing the wreath, the right-hand ribbon carries the occasion phrase, such as '祝 開業' (congratulations on your opening), and the left-hand ribbon carries the sender. We write the ribbon and card messages by hand at no charge.

When several people are sending together, write the name of one representative in the sender field, and note in the memo field that it is a joint gift along with the other names. This avoids confusion. For example, it can be shortened to something like 'Hong Gildong and all the staff'. If a ribbon holds a lot of text, each character gets smaller, so keeping the names concise looks better.

If the shop entrance is narrow, consider a flower basket. Flower baskets and bouquets start from around 45,000 won, and a money tree plant is 47,000 won. If there is room for a wreath, a three-tier congratulatory wreath starts from 59,000 won. A rice wreath, which is a flower-and-ribbon wreath with a sack of rice placed beneath it, is 89,000 won for 10 kg, 119,000 won for 20 kg and 149,000 won for 30 kg.

We deliver flowers across the country, and we also offer a free tool (/open/) for making opening announcement cards. You can request the arrival time and the wording at the ordering stage.

Frequently asked questions

Can I send an opening ceremony wreath the evening before?

Yes. It gives you extra time and lets the wreath be repositioned on site, which makes it a safe choice when the start time is uncertain. Just check first that someone will be at the shop to receive it in the evening.

If I order on the morning itself, can it still arrive in time for the opening?

Same-day delivery applies to orders placed before 5 pm, and this can vary by region and product. If you ask for a time at least 30 minutes ahead of the start, you will also be covered if the delivery runs late.

How should names be written when several people send a wreath together?

Write the name of one representative in the sender field, and note in the memo field that it is a joint gift along with the other names. Facing the wreath, the sender goes on the left ribbon and an occasion phrase such as '祝 開業' (congratulations on your opening) goes on the right ribbon.
