Geumgi Oriental Orchid — Carved Pot

Deep green blades edged in gold, set in a hand-carved celadon pot — a congratulatory gift with the weight of an heirloom.

Oriental Orchid

Nobility, grace, a long-lasting devotion

The Story Behind

Geumgi is an oriental orchid grown for its leaves rather than its bloom. Every blade carries a broad band of gold along its edge, so the plant reads bright and formal in a chief executive's office, a study, or a living room — anywhere the gift is meant to be seen.

The source says the golden edging holds its colour through all four seasons. There is no waiting for a flower and no season when it looks plain.

Geumgi Oriental Orchid — Carved Pot

A presence that finishes the room

Geumgi is an oriental orchid grown for its leaves rather than its bloom. Every blade carries a broad band of gold along its edge, so the plant reads bright and formal in a chief executive's office, a study, or a living room — anywhere the gift is meant to be seen.

The source says the golden edging holds its colour through all four seasons. There is no waiting for a flower and no season when it looks plain.

Gold you can see across a room

Beside an ordinary oriental orchid the difference is plain: where common leaves are a flat, uniform green, Geumgi carries a thick, clearly drawn gold margin against a deep green base. It is the reason this plant is chosen when the gift has to look like an occasion.

The pot is a hand-carved openwork ceramic — pierced rings and a scrolled foot, cut by a craftsman rather than moulded. The plants are selected for leaf pattern and form, and the pot you see in the photographs is the pot that is delivered.
