Slender variegated leaves drawn like an ink painting, held in a hand-carved openwork pot — a gift for the most formal congratulations.

Songhakdo is an oriental orchid grown for its leaves. Long, arching blades carry clean cream-and-green stripes, and the line of them reads like a single brushstroke in an old ink painting.

Set it in a chairman's office, a study, or a quiet corner of a living room and the whole space changes register — calmer, more considered. This is the gift you send when the moment calls for real formality.

Your message, delivered with flowers.

The pot is half the gift

The plant sits in a carved openwork celadon pot — pierced by hand into a lattice of circles and diamonds, with a scrolled foot and small handles at the shoulder. It is a world away from the plain white pot an ordinary orchid arrives in, and the person receiving it will see the difference immediately.

The name carries the same weight. Songhak — pine and crane (松鶴) — stands for achievement and a long life, which is why this orchid is chosen for promotions, retirements and openings rather than everyday occasions.
